Hot Dinners rounds up some of the best food and restaurant pop-ups and events around town at the moment.
For just one month, Hovarda in Soho is bringing Istanbul's best burger to London as Akali Burger take over the lunch menu. In Istanbul, the restaurant started as a fusion diner and a boutique bakery but slowly became known for serving some of the city's finest burgers.
Every burger comes in an 80g, 160g or 240g sizes (alas it doesn't look like the 800g size is making it over), and is topped with
Mortimer House already had a series of impressive takeovers on their fifth floor - and the latest has been announced. This time it's the turn of Zoe Adjonyoh, who will be bringing Zoe's Ghana Kitchen to the fifth floor in Fitzrovia. If you've been to any of her previous residencies or pop-ups, you can expect the same inspired African food at Mortimer House - and here's a taste of what's on
It caused something of a stir when it opened originally in Brick Lane, but the prison-themed Alcotraz must be doing something right - as they've just announced a new three-month pop-up in the West End.
Coming to Covent Garden, this time it's Alcotraz Penitentiary: Cell Block Six Eight. It's a basement speakeasy where you'll have to smuggle your alcohol past a warden and guards to the
Crossing the pond this month will be top NYC pizzaiolas Vinnie's Pizzeria who hit town for a three day 'Brooklyn By the Slice’ pop-up at Paradise Slice on Brick Lane.
The Williamsburg pizzeria, which first opened back in 1960, will be putting on a one-off menu collaboration between themeselves, Brooklyn Brewery and Paradise Slice. There'll be three limited edition pizzas paired with three brews and we have to say, they do sound
The Sun and 13 Cantons in Soho is gearing up for its next residency - this time it's the turn of Pampushka, serving up Ukrainian dishes from the pub in a six-month pop-up.
The Anglo/Ukrainian family - Maksym Shpachynskyi, his wife Elisha Shpachynska and their brother-in-law, chef Rob Neale, are aiming to serve up Ukranian dishes with a British twist. Planned for the menu are dishes that
Ollie Dabbous is back at Chelsea Barracks (a fancy new housing development), where he popped up last spring, with another pop-up. This time it's a cafe called Hideaway.
This time the pop-up is "inspired by the outdoor world" so expect a rustic look to the cafe and plenty of foliage.
If you missed the last time MasterChef finalist Dr Nawamin Pinpathomrat popped up in London with Crab Anatomy - then another chance is on the way. The crab-centric pop-up is back for another month, this time coming to Fitzrovia.
They're taking over the space that used to be Suda and yes, there will be an awful lot of Cornish crab on the menu. Here's what you can expect:
Would you describe yourself as an honest person? One way to really put that to the test is with the return of Vinery London next month. This irregular pop-up boasts that it's the only honesty wine bar in London where they trust you to pay what you think you should.
The idea is that you buy a ticket (£7.50) which gives you entry plus a wine glass which you can then top as much as you like throughout the evening. When you head off into the night,
BAO Fitz is kicking off the Autumn with a series of late-night bar takeovers, every one of which sounds worth attending. They've invited three really interesting bars from across the globe to London. Each will be in town for one night when they'll serve up a special drink and BAO will be pairing that with dishes including - wait for it - a one-off katsu sando creation. Each drink will then be on offer for the following week.
The New York Lyaness experience - without all that lighting stuff at the top you'd honestly think it's the same as...
This bar looks like Lyaness. It serves the same drinks as Lyaness.

When one of our favourite pubs teams up with one of our favourite food folk, you'd better expect us to sit up and take notice. Next week sees a mashup between Highgate's Red Lion and Sun pub and everyone's favourite sandwich maestro Max Halley from Max's Sandwich Shop.
Max will be taking over the food for one night only at the recently refurbed North London pub, serving up an evening menu of two epic-sounding

Sainsbury's is getting into the pop-up business - but they're doing it with a difference. For two days, they're taking over The Old Crown Public House in Holborn and turning it into a low/no alcohol pub. The maximum alcohol level you'll be able to reach in the pub will be 0.5 ABV.
Those drinks will include Celtic Soul, essentially a no-alcohol
At this time of the year, ice-cream pop-ups are ten a penny in London, but we have to say The House of Ice Cream that opens today in Farringdon has got our attention. The two week pop-up by Fuller's Kitchen, next to The Conductor pub, has been timed to launch ahead of National Ice-cream Day and will be serving up ice cream with a side of chips, chicken and hot sauce.
Choose from two mains - ice cream and fries or with fried chicken, desserts consist of
