London's recent boom in plant-based restaurants has taken a little longer to filter into the delivery scene - but there are notable exceptions. Here's our pick of some of the best delivery options for anyone after vegan or vegetarian food during the lockdown. 

There’s no disputing the popularity of veganism in London, so it’s hardly surprising that Good to Go, which started life as a-based pop-up in Old Street Station in 2017 soon launched a nearby permanent site and is now opening a second, this time in Charing Cross Road, with an increased focus on its takeaway options.

After success with their original plant-based restaurant in Chelsea, Wulf & Lamb have opened a second, this time in the heart of Marylebone. 

Over at Somerset House, there's a lovely mashup of art and food going on this spring. Tying in with the new exhibition, Mushrooms: The Art, Design and Future of Fungi, chef Bryn Williams has come up with a series of dishes celebrating mushrooms.

Even cleverer, some of the mushrooms being used have been grown on-site. There's currently an educational food growing programme going on, using parts of Somerset House to grow

After a successful pop-up at The Hive last year, Rich Baker and Sarah Brading's Flat Earth is back with plant-based pizzas using sustainable ingredients. Last year they were first runner up in the 2019 Sustainable Lifestyle Awards best restaurant of the year - and now they're opening at The Plough in Homerton for a long-term residency.

In what is certainly the month for vegan and vegetarian-based offerings, popular plant-based burger bar Halo Burger (currently in Pop Brixton) are about to open their second restaurant, in Shoreditch. 

As before, they've teamed up with Beyond Meat, and they'll be the first in the country to be launching with Beyond Meat's 4.0 patty, which they say should taste more like meat than ever. Plus Beyond

It's time for a change at Counter Culture, the small restaurant next to The Dairy (and by the same people) which runs regularly changing residencies. This time it's the turn of Alter, for an all-vegan takeover. Alter is founded by Andy Hogben, who has previously worked at Dabbous, Som Saa and Kym’s and offers vegan food with street-food influences.

It is - as they say - Veganuary, when you're encouraged to go fully plant-based for a month. But Yard Sale Pizza are going one step further. They already have one popular vegan pizza on the menu - now they're adding three more as permanent additions. 

The new pizzas are: 

• American Hot - Tomato sauce, vegan mozzarella, vegan pepperoni (which they've created themselves) & guindilla chillies

Ever since featuring on My Million Pound Menu, chef Jay Morjaria's plant-based food has been in demand. Now the chef, who is currently working on plans to open his own standalone restaurant JAE, will be previewing dishes from that restaurant in Soho.

For January Jay will be taking over the kitchens at Hovarda every lunchtime. His completely vegan, East Asian menu will include dishes like:

New restaurant Naïfs is a large bistro-style vegan restaurant for Peckham and it comes from an ex Vanilla Black chef. 

Already one of the more famous vegans, Lewis Hamilton is now opening his very own plant-based burger restaurant, Neat Burger, just off Regent Street. 

Already getting respect for serving up one of London's best plant-based burgers, Halo Burger in Brixton has just put another couple of items on the menu that both sound a bit special. 

First up is the "THIS™ Isn’t Chicken Nuggets" using on the plant-based chicken that THIS™ produce (made to be as close to chicken as possible) with a choice of BBQ sauce, signature sauce, ketchup or mayo.

American import by Chloe. are doing pretty well in London and are opening two more of their fast food vegan restaurants here.
