The hottest day of the year so far may seem like an odd time to be launching a Yorkshire pudding pop-up, but c'mon do you really need winter back to enjoy a good Yorkshire?
Launched yesterday at Harvey Nichols, the Hereford+York pop up at the Fifth Floor Foodmarket is a British take on ‘fast food’ featuring four signature Yorkshires to enjoy from breakfast to supper.
Start the day with The Breakfast Yorkshire - Yorkshire with handmade sausages, smoked streaky bacon, watercress and tomato chutney for a fiver - and for later in the day there's a standard Roast Beef Yorkshire with roast beef, caramelised onions, watercress and horseradish cream (£6.50), a Smoked Salmon Yorkshire with Oak smoked salmon, watercress and horseradish dressing (£6.50) and - of course - Toad in the Hole with sausages, caramelised onions, Watercress and fiery English mustard (£5)
All ingredients are locally sourced and farmed: so there's farm-assured British topside beef, handmade sausages from Conisbee’s Butchers, Surrey smoked and streaky British bacon, Hampshire watercress and free-range Surrey Hills eggs.
The Hereford + York pop-up is at Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor from 15 May until 1 August 2014, 7 days a week, 10am until 8pm (Sunday 12pm - 6pm).
