Dare we dream of an actual night of partying this New Year? There may not be official London fireworks but if you're planning to go out to celebrate - and we know many of you will do just that - here are some of the best places to eat out on New Year's Eve. We will be adding new restaurants regularly in the days to come, so keep checking for updates.
Kricket - Soho’s Indian-inspired restaurant, Kricket, will be serving their classic à la carte menu on the night with highlights including Keralan Fried Chicken, Tandoori Monkfish and Goose Vindaloo. After dinner, guests can head downstairs to their bar, SOMA with a DJ playing till the small hours.
Park Row - there's plenty planned for NYE fun at this DC Comics inspired restaurant with two dinner sittings in both the restaurant and their interactive Monarch Theatre dining room. There'll be nitro popcorn, a live band, and DJ with entertainment going through to 3am. Tickets from £90.
Bar Crispin - is throwing a New Year's Eve party with a five-course feasting menu, with dishes including Poached oysters with Champagne beurre blanc & sprout leaves. It's £65 including a Champagne aperitif on arrival and a party popper at midnight!
Aqua Kyoto and Aqua Nueva - overlooking Regent Street these two sister restaurants are celebrating New Year's Eve with menus of sushi and sashimi for the former and tapas and a three course dinner for the latter. Tickets are £175 which include dancers, DJs and the party continues post dinner in the Aqua Spirit bar and terraces.
Barshu is open for New Year's Eve and running with its standard menu for the evening with all their Sichuan specials.
Kolamba - Enjoy a three-course Sri Lankan menu here on New Year’s Eve for £60 - choose from chicken string hopper biryani or jackfruit biryani for your main and finish the evening with Ceylon Cardamom Crepes.
El Pastor - El Pastor Soho will be ringing in the New Year with DJs curated by Cal Jader of Movimientos. Reservations from 9pm onwards will have the table for the rest of the evening. If you’re eating earlier you can head downstairs to the bar after dinner, where DJs will be playing.
Chotto Matte - Early birds wanting to kick celebrations off early should head here for the daytime Hikari Brunch (£60). Opt for the bottomless drinks package and for £110 you'll get free flowing Champagne and limited edition cocktails created with The House of Suntory.
Sussex - The Gladwin Brothers restaurant has a five-course sustainably-sourced menu, a glass of Nutty Brut and canapés on arrival for £95 per person. There will be live music too.
Folie - Get dressed up for a glamorous night out at Folie on Golden Square where their NYE menu (starting at £125 for early sittings) features luxe dishes like Scallop carpaccio with watercress & Oscietra caviar and Black truffle risotto with parmesan foam.
Ham Yard Hotel - the rooftop bar here is having an NYE bash. Enjoy an evening of martinis and champagne overlooking the rooftops of Soho with live music. Tickets are £90 including a welcome martini on arrival, a second martini or a glass of Champagne of your choice, a seafood medley and a Champagne toast at midnight.
Covent Garden & The Strand
Le Nord at The Rooftop (Trafalgar Square) - the rooftop bar at the Trafalgar St James hotel is having quite the party on NYE with sushi and oysters stations, canapes and free flowing drinks. Tickets are £549.
Eve Bar (Covent Garden) underneath Frog by Adam Handling is having a NYE party where for £25 you get a glass of bubbles on arrival, a midnight shot and music until the early hours. There's even a cheeky bacon roll service at 3am.
Pivot (Covent Garden) - Award-winning chef Mark Greenaway is New Year's Eve in his restaurant with an eight-course tasting menu (£130). There's champagne on arrival and dishes include 'mushrooms on toast’ where guests pick roasted shiitakes off the log they grew on and add them to warm bread with truffle butter.
The Petersham (Covent Garden) - This restaurant from the Petersham Nurseries team has a six-course celebratory winter set menu for the night (£110) with lobster and coco beans, roasted delica pumpkin and a mango and passionfruit pavlova among the options.
St James & Westminster
Fallow - is putting on a feasting menu (£135) combining signature dishes such as Corn Ribs with Lime alongside special editions like Roast Orkney Scallops, BreXO.
Mathura - Atul Kochhar's latest restaurant has a New Year menu that includes Devonshire crab, sweet corn, pickled shrimps and grapes and yorkshire wagyu fillet, 24-carat gold, morel and truffle (£145). There's also a vegetarian version available and they'll have Champagne on arrival and at midnight.
The Pem - using the best of British produce they're putting on a five course NYE menu with dishes including Sole Cardinale with native lobster and braised fennel. It's £125 per person.
Hush - Downton Abbey fans should head for Hush this New Year's Eve where they're putting on a 1920’s evening in partnership with gin from Highclere where the show is filmed. Put on your best flapper costume for cocktails on arrival with the full a la carte on offer. There's a DJ and live music along with prizes for best outfits. It's £100 per person.
The Guinea Grill - for a top tier steak supper on New Year's Eve the Guinea is open and serving its a la carte menu on the evening.
Hide - Ollie Dabbous' restaurant has two set menus for New Year's Eve, one with a classic wine pairing for £595 and one for serious oenophiles with a Hedonism wine pairing for £895.
Le Comptoir Robuchon - it's all wagyu, caviar and foie gras at this Mayfair spot with a seven course menu for New Year's Eve plus a DJ set to keep things lively. Tickets are £170.
COYA - has covered itself in golden decos for the festive season. There are two sittings on NYE - the early one ends with a party in the Pisco Bar (£150) while the later sitting lets you stay in the restaurant till the small hours (£220).
Gymkhana - The Michelin-starred Indian restaurant has a night planned serving up Gymkhana classics with dishes including Amritsari Lobster, Tandoori Masala Lamb Chops and Truffle Masala Bhaji (£115)
Maison Francois - This St James spot is mixing an evening of jazz with a menu of French classics for £150. Franks, their bar downstairs, will be open until 2am with a live DJ (and a four-course meal) for £175.
The Ritz- The New Year's Eve gala in the Ritz restaurant doesn't come cheap (£1500) but the black-tie party includes dinner, a live band, bagpipes AND a marching band. If that's too much for you, there's also a party in the Palm Court (the bands and bagpipes will pop in there too) for £895.
The Dorchester - All the main restaurants will have a New Year's Eve Dinner. That includes a seven-course meal at The Grill for £380 (with a live band) or one at the three-Michelin-starred Alain Ducasse for £240.
Bentley's - Richard Corrigan's seafood spot has a four-course menu (£140) for an evening kicking off with Champagne and canapés along with oysters and Dover Sole. Then head downstairs to their Swallow Street Bar for entertainment and cocktails.
Fitzrovia & BLOOMSBURY
Big Mamma restaurants (Shoreditch, Covent Garden and Fitzrovia) - Big Mamma are opening their restaurants (Gloria, Circolo Popolare, Ave Mario) for an all-night dinner starting from 7.30 until close. There's a three-course meal including a truffle carbonara served in a 6kg wheel of pecorino (£64).
Dalloway Terrace (Bloomsbury) - enjoy an alfresco New Year's Eve here with a 3-course set menu plus glass of English fizz on arrival (£95). And you can move on to the hotel's Coral Room bar afterwards with its live music.
Norma (Fitzrovia) - for a Sicilian-inspired feast this New Year's Eve Norma has a five course dinner (£85) that kicks off with antipasti and the option of aubergine pamagiana with winter truffle finishing off with canoli and a glass of their own Limoncello.
Delamina - is opening its doors for the first time to celebrate New Year's Eve this year. There's a menu created for the night by chef-patron Limor featuring giant charcoal grilled prawns and salmon with pomegranate molasses along with festive cocktails and entertainment from the Sunset Duo.
Madera - the rooftop restaurant at the Treehouse London has a sharing menu of Californian-Mexican dishes and cocktail pairings. There will be guest DJs and fire dancers performing. It's £180 per person including a glass of Moët & Chandon Champagne and midnight snacks.
Knightsbridge, Belgravia & Kensington
Launceston Place (Kensington) - Ben Murphy has put on a seven course tasting menu (with a vegetarian alternative) for New Year's Eve. (£120 per person - £110 for the vegetarian menu).
Al Mare (Knightsbridge) - At the newly refurbed Carlton Tower Jumeirah, Al Mare has a seven course Italian menu on offer with Alba white truffles, Champagne and live jazz. It's £220 per person.
Sumosan Twiga (Knightsbridge)- Enjoy an elegant New Year's Eve at Sumosan Twiga with a When Dark Meets Light party menu (£200) that includes Japanese Wagyu Sirloin, Duck Bao Buns, Chargrilled Lobster and more. The evening starts with Champagne and there'll be lots of entertainment throughout the night.
Restaurant Ours - This Brompton Road restaurant is putting on a 1960s themed bash Peace, Love & Ours. There's a three course menu with snacks like halloumi popcorn, oysters and even a veal milanese covered in gold leaf. Prices start at £99 for the early sitting.
Dishoom (Kensington) - Dishoom will be celebrating New Year’s Eve in style with any bookings made from 9:30pm able to stay for the countdown and ring in the new year. Their Kensington branch will be hosting their resident live jazz band The Marine Liners for some additional NYE party vibes.
Celeste at the Lanesborough (Belgravia) - The Michelin-starred restaurant at this Belgravia hotel will have a live band alongside a five-course meal that includes a beef Wellington or Cornish turbot (plus a glass of Champagne) for £325.
King's Cross & Islington
The Plimsoll - the Four Legs crew's NYE dinner may have sold out in record time, but their pub is also open for walk ins tonight for their epic cheeseburgers and booze.
Hicce - This Coal Drops Yard restaurant is having a Studio 54 themed event, running three sittings on the day, lunch, early dinner and the 8pm onwards slot where you have the table for the rest of the night. They'll be serving the Hicce Experience menu and live music is on the cards. Dinner is £55.
Plaquemine Lock - For £125 per person, enjoy complimentary canapes and a glass of champagne at midnight as well as a four course meal including some of the restaurant's signature dishes. There's live music to count guests down to midnight and ring in the New Year.
Searcy's St Pancras Bar and Brasserie - is turning into a Roaring 1920s Speakeasy with an evening of jazz, canapés and Champagne. There's a Champagne reception with a three-course dinner followed by live entertainment.
Lina Stores - For New Year's Eve Lina Stores has a Festa da Lina sharing menu and entertainment from a DJ plus traditional Italian tombola games. Tickets start at £65 for an early sitting.
Drake & Morgan - for a fun party on NYE Drake & Morgan King's Cross is serving up celebratory cocktails, party food and will have their resident DJ playing all of the best hits.
Borough, Southwark & London Bridge
Baccala (Southwark) - Italian seafood spot Baccala on Bermondsey Street has a five-course New Year's Eve tasting menu, including dishes such as Grilled octopus & raw scallop, with puntarelle & fragola grapes and a Chestnut & tonka beans volcano, with blood orange sorbet for dessert. Tickets are £85 (with a wine pairing available for an additional £55 per person), and there will be live jazz music.
Hutong (London Bridge) - Revellers with a head for heights can book dinner at Hutong where for £295 there's a four course sharing menu of northern Chinese dishes, including ma la chilli lobster bao and roasted Peking duck. After dinner the party continues in aqua shard where a DJ will be playing until 3am.
Ting at the Shard (London Bridge) - In The Shangri La at the top of The Shard, Ting is serving up a 3-course dinner with two sittings with a menu that includes poached lobster salad and a wagyu beef wellington. Prices start at £299. There's also an "Après Ski Party" at Sky Lounge on floor 34 for an extra £70.
Oblix at The Shard (London Bridge) has two options. Oblix West has a sit-down ‘brunch-style’ dinner, with an unlimited selection of starters and mains like Whole lobster with lemon verbena & garlic butter (£300-£550) and Oblix East has tickets available that include unlimited wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks until midnight (£200).
Seabird (Southwark) - head up to this rooftop restaurant for a New Year's Eve party with a bang. The £195 menu includes shared tapas and mains like a Tomahawk steak or whole fish and kicks off with a glass of Nyetimber.
Waterloo & South Bank
Sea Containers (South Bank) - The Bankside hotel has a party in its rooftop bar 12th Knot with a live band, resident DJ and spectacular views of the London skyline. Standard tickets are £65 or £185 for the open bar.
Skylon (South Bank) - with great views over the river, Skylon is putting on a five course menu for New Year's Eve which begins with Oscietra Caviar Blinis and includes butter poached lobster, aged beef Wellington. Look out for a special Nyetimber wine list to celebrate with at midnight.
OXO (South Bank) - Oxo always goes big for New Year's Eve and this year is no exception. Both the restaurant and brasserie are open for dinner followed by dancing with prices for the set menu, including Champagne or drinks pairings starting at £250.
The Cheese Barge - see in the New Year with a cheese-fuelled £55 menu which starts with selected cheese and a wine flight along with fondue, baked cheese and more.
Bondi Green - Daisy Green's largest restaurant is serving up a five course dinner with a Champagne cocktail on arrival and bubbles at midnight (£120). Tim Paradise is the DJ for the evening, and the menu includs rosemary macarons, artichoke fricasse and dark chocolate cremeux.
Duck & Waffle - with great views over London, this rooftop restaurant is throwing a Polar Express themed party. For the £250 minimum spend you'll get half a bottle of Taittinger, welcome canapes, and truffles and your choice from the restaurant's signature a la carte menu along with NYE specials. There'll also be live performances, DJs, and an epic countdown.
Madison - Up at the top of One New Change Madison starts New Year's Eve early with a special brunch. Then they're turning into a party spot for the evening with canapes, cocktails and fizz. Tickets start at £135.
Coq d'argent - is putting on a night to remember with a private fireworks display, six-course dinner and panoramic views of the London skyline. The dinner (£140) is paired with wines from Coq d’Argent’s 600-bottle strong wine cave. There's a DJ playing all night and the fireworks start as the clock strikes 12. There are also drinks party-only tickets for £50.
Vauxhall & Nine Elms
Brunswick House (Vauxhall) - is having its first-ever New Year's Eve party. There's a 5-course dinner with exclusive access afterwards to Jazz in the Cellars with live music played by Mark Kavuma and The Banger Factory. Dinner is £65 with wine pairings optional.
Callooh Callay (Shoreditch), Callooh Callay Chelsea, Little Bat (Islington) and Duchess of Dalston are throwing all-inclusive parties at all their bars on the night. There are two options - free-flowing drinks and canapes all night for £150 or just the drinks for £100.
Apothecary - will be ringing in the New Year with live DJs and a tasting menu for just £45 incuding a glass of champagne, with the venue opening until 3am. Dishes include Deluxe Salmon Den Miso Rolls, Grilled Cauliflower and Black Sesame and Slow Cooked Pork Belly Hirata Buns.
Pergola Wharf - The £60 VIP ticket gets you a free flowing Champagne reception for an hour, followed by a three course meal, accompanied by a live band and singer Rhianna Abrey
from The Voice UK followed by DJ sets.
Sunday in Brooklyn - Tickets for New Year's Eve start from £55 per person which includes a four course meal and a glass of champagne on arrival. There’s two sittings, one at 5:30pm and one at 8:30pm.
