This year, touching all the wood, restaurants will actually be allowed to open on Christmas Day. More and more places are adding their menus in the coming weeks. We're starting with hotels and we'll restaurants and pubs here as the info comes in.
Marylebone - 22 Marylebone Rd, London NW1 6JQ
If you're really going for it this Christmas, then The Landmark really has to be an option. It's a buffet lunch, so if part of Christmas is all about seconds, then this may be just for you. It's not cheap but bear in mind that there is unlimited Rose champagne too. (They also do a three-course meal in the evening for £165)

Southwark - 40 Blackfriars Road 14th Floor, South Bank, London SE1 8NY
For Christmas with a great view across London, Seabird have a 10-course set sharing menu including oysters and for main a choice of a whole market fish with Txakoli sauce, chargrilled tomahawk with molho cru or Hispi cabbage with butterbeans and chestnuts.

St James's Park - 22-28 Broadway, London SW1H 0BH
It's the first Christmas for Sally Abé's restaurant in St James, with options on the menu including ‘Honey glazed Saddleback ham, chestnut, truffle, winter leaves, wholegrain mustard’, ‘Roast breast & confit leg of Sladesdown goose, goose fat fondant potato, sage, apple, apricot’, and ‘Fillet of Cumbrian beef Wellington, Wiltshire truffle creamed potatoes, madeira jus’.

Fancy something very different for Christmas Day? Decimo has a Mexican/Spanish three-course feast where choices include Spanish Pigs in Blankets, Muscovy Duck and Mole and Chocolate Mousse, Bread & Olive Oil, There's a vegan version available too.

Mayfair - The Beaumont, 8 Balderton St, Brown Hart Gardens, London W1K 6TF
The recently revamped Beaumont Hotel is open for this Christmas, with a six-course menu that includes cured organic salmon with, Dorset crab, sautéed foie gras, potted Stilton, turkey, pudding and mince pies. There's a vegetarian version too.

Corinthia Hotel - Whitehall Pl, Westminster, London SW1A 2BD
Tom Kerridge's London restaurant will have a five-course menu on the day including game terrine with spiced quince chutney, lobster scotch egg with “thermidor“ sauce and either rôtisserie roasted Norfolk brown turkey or rôtisserie roasted fillet of beef as the main event. After dessert, it all ends with a truffle baked Camembert for the table and JKerridge's Christmas pudding.

Anthony Demetre’s Wild Honey has a eight-course menu with options that include duck and foie gras ‘en terrine, agnolotti of wild mushrooms, roast west coast Scottish langoustines. There's either grilled Cornish seabass, bronze feathered turkey or roast sirloin of Scottish grass fed beef for the main and Vacherin Mont d’Or, Christmas pudding or the amazing Wild Honey ice cream and warm honey for dessert.
Holborn - 252 High Holborn, London WC1V 7EN
This year's three-course menu at Holborn Dining Room has has a choice of dishes for a three course meal. On top of the turkey and trimmings, there's rabbit and bacon en croute (which. as it's Calum Franklin should definitely be your choice), Cornish cod forestiere, or a pump street chocolate brulee or trifle for dessert.

The City - South Place Hotel, 3 South Pl, London EC2M 2AF
Angler - there’s a distinct seafood theme to the five-course Christmas Day lunch menu at this City restaurant which includes Squid ink cracker with taramasalata and Dorset crab with green apple, avocado and wasabi on the menu with a main of roast Challans with duck foie gras, orange blossom honey and chicory rather than turkey.

South Bank - 20 Upper Ground, London SE1 9PD
The Sea Containers restaurant on the South Bank is putting on a three-course Christmas Day menu. While the mains have a choice of turkey and beef - there is also turbot with salsify, Jerusalem artichoke and lobster essence or orecchiette with winter truffle and mushroom sauce. There's also an option of game terrine to start and traditional Christmas pudding to finish.

Whitcomb's at The Londoner (Leicester Square) - their 5-course menu features dishes like seared scallop with sautéed cavolo nero, roasted pumpkin, pickled heritage carrots and hazelnut beurre noisette or roasted duck breast with pommes mousseline (£175)
The Northall (St James) - The restaurant at The Corinthia has a menu which includes Native lobster gelée with crème fraîche and caviar and Truffle risotto with wild mushroom and herb oil - with a Turkey for the main course and their own Christmas pudding (£225)
Bibo (Shoreditch) - The Spanish restaurant's menu includes Jamón Iberico, roasted lamb with potato purée, roasted vegetables, grilled baby gem and fries, and 'Torrija Navideña - caramelised milk with a cinnamon-infused brioche, for dessert. (£120)
Galvin Bar and Grill (Russell Square) - The newest Galvin restaurant has a three-course menu with mains including turkey, squash pithivier, halibut and roasted duck leg (£185)
Bingham Riverhouse (Richmond) - There are three options at this Richmond hotel/restaurant. Have dinner in the Garden Rooms or alternatively dinner cooked up by MasterChef The Professionals winner Stephen Edwards, either in a private igloo or in the restaurant (£150).
Dinner by Heston (Knightsbridge) - For Christmas at Heston's, there's a plum meat fruit, roast duck instead of turkey and a special Christmas tipsy cake for dessert (£295 for five courses, vegetarian version available)
Celeste at The Lanesborough (Belgravia) - This Michelin-starred restaurant is a five-course affair for £260 with dishes including Native Lobster Royale Fennel pollen, Champagne jelly and Oscietra caviar with an egg nog bauble for dessert.
The Game Bird at the Stafford (overseen by Lisa Goodwin-Allen of Northcote) has a four-course menu (plus canapes) for £250 per person, which includes winter truffle arancini, smoked duck eccles cake and a butter poached native lobster as well as the turkey and pudding.
The Goring (Belgravia) - The Queen's favourite hotel (we're pretty sure she will be elsewhere) has a three-course menu for £295 per person, which includes their famed native lobster omelette to start.
The Ritz (Mayfair) - If you're after something spectacular, then the Ritz should do the job. There are a few options for the Christmas day lunch which start at £450 and there will be a live band, a magician and, of course, a visit from Father Christmas.
The Dorchester (Mayfair) - There are multiple options at The Dorchester. There's Christmas Day lunch at The Grill for £350 (including live music), and afternoon tea on The Promenade for £145 or a six course menu at the three Michelin starred Alain Ducasse for £380.
Claridge's (Mayfair) - They'll have Christmas Day lunch in both the Foyer & Reading Room (£395) or in Daniel Humm's Michlien-starred Davies & Brook (also £395) which will include dishes like a caviar slice with English muffin, roasted turkey with chestnut stuffing and rillette and a flambéed Christmas pudding.
The Connaught (Mayfair) - Both Jean Georges and Helene Darroze have Christmas Day menus, Jean-Georges is £225 for a four-course menu where choices include ‘Prince de Dombes’ duck and a Christmas log (as well as traditional turkey). Meanwhile, the three Michelin-starred Helene Darroze has a menu for £325 where the main event is a capon with black truffle, celeriac, and “Albufera sauce” (or you can go for Christmas Day dinner for £225).
City and Soho
Both Bob Bob Ricards are open on Christmas Day - the Soho original and the recently relaunched City sibling. They'll have the standard menu on offer which already lends itself to a big celebration - including lots of caviar, Beef Wellington for two and flaming crème brûlée. And you can go all-out on that Press for Champagne button - it is Christmas, after all.

King's Cross - 1 King's Boulevard, London N1C 4BU
The Christmas Day menu at The German Gymnasium features choices like beer tartare, turkey, fillet steak and vegan schnitzel. However, for a really special occasion, the whole roasted goose should be an option - with red cabbage and potato dumplings. And yes, there is apple strudel for dessert.
Price: £109 (£30 supplement for the goose).
Marylebone, Covent Garden, South Kensington
The "Wine Workshop and Kitchen" restaurants are all open on Christmas Day if you fancy working your way through their wine list on the day. Dishes include truffle arancini, roasted cep velouté, hake with leek fondue and turkey and Christmas pudding too.
Price: £64.95 for four courses (plus a glass of Champagne)
Marylebone, Covent Garden, South Kensington
Fancy Christmas Day with a (weather permitting) spectacular view? The menu at Duck & Waffle includes choices like a lobster cocktail and twice-baked cheddar souffle alongside turkey, halibut or wild mushroom risotto. There's also the option of a cherry roulade for dessert. They've also transformed the restaurant to an "imaginative train station in the cloud" which looks AMAZING.
City, Covent Garden, Battersea, Westminster
Vivek Singh is opening four restaurants on Christmas Day for a Christmas dinner with a modern Indian approach. Dishes include pan-seared goose breast, Malabar style prawn moilee curry, grilled breast of partridge and garam masala Christmas pudding.

Mayfair - 12a Berkeley Square, London W1J 6BS
This year, Benares will open on Christmas Day for the first time. They'll have a Michelin-starred feast created by Executive Chef Sameer Taneja, matched with expertly paired wines. We're told to expect a "culinary journey across India with a Christmas twist" and dishes include Scottish scallop tartlet, tawa masala wild halibut and clam moilee and tandoori muntjac and turkey biryani for mains.
Mathura (Westminster) - Atul Kochhar's new restaurant is open for Christmas lunch with courses including Atul’s turkey Tikka pie and Butter-poached native lobster with coconut sambal (£145 with a cocktail)
Veeraswamy (Mayfair) - the newly refurbished 95-year-old restaurant will open on the day with dishes that include Spicy quail Kerala style, Lamb gilafi, sheekh kebab and Goan roast duck vindaloo (£90pp for three courses at lunch or £75pp at dinner).
Chutney Mary (Belgravia) - Their three-course menu includes options like baked venison samosas, butter chicken with Champagne makhani sauce and Kerala roast duck (£90)
Bluebird (Chelsea) - The Bluebird menu is a three-course affair, including Dill cured Loch Duart salmon, turkey, salmon and even the option of Tournedos Rossini with foie gras and truffle potatoes for your main course (£150).
Riding House Cafe (Fitzrovia) - The Christmas Day menu here features "hand-dived scallops, dashi stock, wakame" as a starter and a "chocolate bruleé torte with poached cherries" with traditional options available too (£90).
Kahani (Chelsea) - Peter Joseph's restaurant has a 5-course feast that includes smoked turkey with star anise, Somerset lamb with rajasthani spices, and Christmas pudding with candied ginger glaze (£90).
298 King's Road, London SW3 5UG
This new pub, with the food managed by James Knappett, is opening for their first Christmas with a six-course menu. Choices include Berkswell beignets with truffle, Scottish scallop roasted in the shell, and turkey, turbot or a wild mushroom & pearl barley pie for the main. The rice pudding with Christmas spices also sounds very tempting.
Price: £200 for six courses plus a glass of bubbles.
77 Highgate W Hill, Highgate, London N6 6BU
Work up an appetite before Christmas lunch at this Highgate pub or walk it off on the heath afterwards. The three-course menu has plenty of vegan and gluten-free options. Along with traditional dishes, there's Owton’s dry-aged beef Wellington or a guinea fowl breast & thigh and the butterscotch savarin cheesecake sounds very good indeed.
Windmill Dr, London SW4 9DE
This festive-looking Clapham pub has an extensive menu on offer on Christmas Day. Start with Roast cauliflower soup and toasted chestnuts, move on to a Hampshire game & juniper suet pie and there's spiced orange and cranberry syllabub among the dessert options.

Greenwich - Park Row, London SE10 9NW
Walk along the Thames on Christmas Day to the Trafalgar Tavern at Royal Greenwich where their three-course Christmas Day menu choices of spiced & grilled cauliflower, turkey and trimmings and forerib of beef - as well as a sticky toffee Christmas pudding for dessert.
Price: £95 including a glass of Prosecco.
15 Selwood Terrace, London SW7 3QG
There's a three-course festive menu on the big day at this South Kensington pub - which kicks off with an amuse-bouche of stuffed figs with torched clementines and concludes with some appealing sounding petit fours of white chocolate fudge with pistachio and cranberries.With turkey in between, of course.
The Paxton (Norwood) - They have a 4-course menu curated by two head chefs from Michelin star backgrounds with dishes including baby artichoke and wild mushrooms and sticky toffee Christmas pudding, with turkey or nut roast for the main (£55)
The Hope and Anchor (Brixton) - They're having a Kiwi and Aussie themed Christmas barbecue in their heated and covered garden (£5 per person entry).
The Owl and Pussycat (Shoreditch) - They have a three-course menu for £75 (£55 for kids) with plenty of choices for the main, including turkey, striploin of beef, sea bass and a Chanterelle mushroom, truffle & pearl barley risotto.
