After its success last Diwali, the Fat Pundit team are bringing back their The Lady Kenny for this year's festivities. Inspired by the Bengali sweet ledikeni - it's made by frying chenna and flour moulds in oil or ghee, which is then sweetened in sugar syrup.

Michelin-starred Benares is all ready to kick off Diwali festivities with a special eight-course vegetarian tasting menu this year. Dishes include Masala Kachori Pumpkin Curry; Paneer Tikka Willington; and Sealed and Baked Golden Kofta in Rich Cashew Nut along with truffle shorba. Bookings on Diwali itself will get a free gift of sweets to take home with them.

Chet Sharma, Chef Patron at the newly opened BiBi in Mayfair, has created a duck sharing feast to celebrate Diwali. His menu uses free-range Creedy Carver ducks from Devon and features confit duck leg shammi kebab, duck heart ghutwas kebab served in a milk bun, and a duck crown with awadhi brown sauce. Brigadiers are putting a vintage Bollywood take on Diwali this year. Their five-course Diwali Feasts include the maharaja chicken biryani as the centrepiece along with smoked pumpin thepla, duck samosa chaat and more. The terrace will be filled with lanterns and - on the night itself - they'll have a DJ playing.

Raju Ramachandran, Head Chef of Cinnamon Kitchen City, is bringing in Surendra Nathawat, Senior Sous Chef of The Cinnamon Club, to mark the Festival of Lights. Their 12-dish collaboration menu includes Sri Lankan style chicken curry with pandan leaf and spices, Tandoori rabbit tikka with soola spices and Kolkata style king prawn biryani with pomegranate raita. Tickets cost £65 per person and include a welcome drink.

This newly-opened restaurant in Holborn is celebrating its first London Diwali with a five-course menu featuring Malabar fish or paneer tikka and culminating with rose gulab jamun with gold leaf. Five courses are £55.

Gymkhana

After the fire and the pandemic, this will be Gymkhana's first Diwali for three years. So they're going big with a limited-edition six course Diwali Tasting Menu with delights such as Beetroot Raj Kachori and Tamarina, Sev on offer along with the restaurant's signatures dishes Kid Goat Methi Keema and Muntjac Biryani. The feast ends with a chocolate box and a giftbag to take home.

Jamavar are having a series of candlelit feasts in collaboration with Jo Loves the fragrance company from Jo Malone CBE. Culinary Director Surender Mohan has come up with a three-course feast he calls the ‘Trio of Love, Luck & Light’ which will be served with diners surrounded by Jo Loves candles.
