South London
326 Coldharbour Ln, Brixton, London SW9 8QH

This family-run business opened its second location on Coldharbour Lane, bringing authentic Vietnamese cuisine inspired by their grandmother's cooking.

Traditional dishes such as fragrant summer rolls, crispy mini Banh Khot prawn pancakes and lemongrass beef in betel leaves are great for sharing, while there are lots of heartier larger dishes and a great vegetarian offering too. Make sure to try the Bhan Mi (Vietnamese sandwich) on their weekend menu.

Lanes of London
Mayfair, Belgravia
140 Park Lane, London W1K 7AA

This is the restaurant for the Marriott Park Lane. It aims to concentrate on the "best of London’s street food" and this is represented by mixing several international cusines that hark from distinct areas of London (those would be the "Lanes" of the title). That means Vietnamese (Kingsland Road) Indian (Brick Lane) British (Portobello Road) and Lebanese (Edgware Road).

Cay Tre Soho
Soho, Fitzrovia, Covent Garden
42-43 Dean Street, London W1D 4PZ
Critic reviews - total score 6.5 out of 10

Cay Tre in Shoreditch/ Hoxton is felt by many, including Mark Hix, to be the very best Vietnamese restaurant in town. Also owners of the successful Viet Grill, they've been expanding lately - first with the recent Keu, and now with a flagship restaurant right in the centre of Soho. Expect a restaurant with a bright look, to challenge the vogue that contemporary Asian restaurants must be dark and moody, and more of a small-plates approach than the original Cay Tre offered.

If you're after great Vietnamese food in London, then one of the places to head to is Kingsland Road with a huge selection of restaurants. This one stands out though, as the sister restaurant of Cay Tre and with something of a more laid-back vibe.
