This is the Standard's flagship restaurant at the top of the high-rise building in King's Cross. It's run by Peter Sanchez-Iglesias who has two Michelin-starred restaurants in Bristol, features food that's inspired by Mexico and Spain - and has some great views too.

This is a small two storey restaurant with a modern take on traditional Mexican from food husband and wife team Edson and Natalie Diaz-Fuentes. Here you'll find a menu which mixes what you know about Mexican cooking with more unfamiliar dishes.

Casa & Plaza Pastor is the Mexican restaurant of two parts from the Harts Group - the people behind El Pastor in Borough and the Barrafina restaurants. Casa Pastor - the part that's most like El Pastor before it - serves up Mexican classics done well. Outside is Plasa Pastor, which has a line in sandwiches and rotisserie chicken (and is, obviously, heated in the winter).

This is from the same people behind Barrafina, who are on a mission to do the same for Mexican food as they did for Spanish. There's a big focus around tacos, particularly on the signature Al Pastor and they have a super selection of Mezcal too.

This was street traders-turned restaurateurs Breddos first restaurant. It serves up excellent tacos, tostadas, tortilla-based Mexican pizza tlayudas and more. Don't forget to give their mezcal list a try as well.

London doesn't have much in the way of upmarket Mexican, so this modern Mexican may be just the ticket for anyone fancying an enchilada. There's a private dining room for 20, large terrace for outdoor drinking and a monthly tequila dinner which sounds lethal but fun.
