With podcasts (and newsletters) being the big media story of recent lockdowns, news of another foodie one should prick interest.

Life on a Plate from Waitrose launches tomorrow. It's hosted by Evening Standard restaurant critic Jimi Famurewa and Waitrose Food Editor, Alison Oakervee. We're told that every episode will see the pair interview a well-known guest, exploring their life through food.

The interviewee list sounds good too with Nadiya Hussain their first guest and future interviewees including chef Tom Kerridge and comedian Sarah Millican.

"We’re thrilled to be launching this brand new podcast," say Waitrose. "It could only ever be about one thing: food. Food is central to everyone’s story...The conversations Alison and Jimi have with our guests range from moving to funny, but are always entertaining and inspiring.

Things might get a little confusing when the BBC launches its new television series this summer, also called My Life on a Plate. That features chef Brian Turner who according to the BBC blurb "takes celebrities back to their youths, using the power of food to jog colourful memories."
