The hotel business really does seem to be booming in London at the moment. Merely days after the confirmation of the NoMad hotel in Covent Garden, we now have news of the opening of a new London Nobu hotel. Founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, it's their second London hotel (along with two other restaurants), after the first opened in Shoreditch.
This time they're moving west - which is more Nobu's home territory - and setting up in Portman Square in Marylebone (just north of Selfridges), taking over the old Radisson Blu. The hotel will be owned by the same group behind Cliveden and Chewton Glen.
So far, all we know is that it'll be a big hotel at 239 rooms, David Collins Studio, is in charge of the look and feel inside, and that there will (of course) be a Nobu restaurant inside and also a ballroom for private events.
More info as we get it.
