What: The Camden Grocer

In a nutshell: Camden market gets a luxury deli and cafe

Summing it all up: A trio with experience in London's top food stores have picked Camden to launch their range of upmarket deli and cafes.

The low-down

It's all change at Camden Market. Kerb may have left, but they've been busy upping their food offering. The latest place to open is The Camden Grocer - a self-styled luxury delicatessen and café.

The trio behind it have experience in some of London's finest food stores. Scott Winston ran the food operations at Harvey Nichols, Harrods and Selfridges, Matthew Bunch was previously at Paxton and Whitfield and Alec Paterson worked for Gelupo Ice Cream.

Their new opening in North Yard, within Stables Market (you'll find them next to the Amy Winehouse statue) aims to sell only the finest food and drink from around the world. Expect top drawer cheese, charcuterie meat and other groceries. They also have the exclusive wholesale contract with many of the Great Taste Award products like Dark Woods coffee.

You can pick up groceries to take home, or have them to eat in the store along with a range of cold drinks and coffee. There's seating for around 25 inside.

It's the first of several planned openings by the team, as Alex explains; "We have a lot of plans to grow and open further sites across this incredible city. Our aim is to become a household name within the London luxury retail sector."
