In a nutshell: Italian fish bar in Tooting's Broadway Market
Summing it all up: This new seafood spot in Tooting Broadway Market combines the freshest seafood with Italian flair making it a street food spot worth checking out.
Tooting's food scene continues to grow - the latest opening there is FishBite in Broadway Market which started trading a few weeks ago.
Part restaurant, part street food bar they call it an "experiment" that aims to be a bit of gourmet in a buzzy spot. The chap behind it is Carmelo Carnevale who worked in the original Harry's Bar in Venice and more recently at Osteria Romana in Knightsbridge and, before that, as Head Chef of Novikov's Trattoria Semplice.
So what's on the menu? Well - there are a range of panini stuffed with fillings like tuna or salmon tartare or chargrilled octopus. After something vegetarian? Well the Sicilian Panella chickpeas fritters with roast aubergine and salsa verde sound good too. Then there are salads, a range of Abruzzese arrosticini fish kebabs, fritto misto and arancini.
The drinks list is exclusively Italian with wines from Sicily, Puglia and Tuscanny as well as range of Italian spritzes.
